Forget NYE and all the overpriced hustle and bustle and night bus home, celebrate the New Year with us at this New Year’s Day special with four hours of non-stop indie partying.
After two sold out events at The Deaf Institute, the U.K’s biggest indie party is coming to Manchester on New Year’s Day for this special edition of An Afternoon of Indie to kick off 2026 in style.
Strictly over 30s only, this is one for the slightly older indie kids. Times: 3-7pm
We’ve hosted indie events in 17 other cities too
Brought to you Old School Indie Feeling Gloomy (which turned 20 last year) & Age Against The Machine our DJs will be playing a mix of indie classics from across the decades so whether you were an 70s punk, 80s new waver, 90s britpopper or early 00s poser they’ll be something for everyone.
We’ve played indie at Glasto, Isle of Wight, Latitude, Green Man, Standon, Camp Bestival and even main stage at Knebworth (but probably not the year you are thinking of), so we know our indie onions.
The party will finish at 7pm so you can head down the pub to continue your night our or you could just go home and watch some TV with the last of those leftover turkey sandwiches
With a strict door policy of no under 30s (please bring ID) there is no chance of you rubbing shoulders with anyone who can’t sing the entire version of Babies or Going Underground.
