Our Commitment to Accessibility
Gorilla is committed to being an inclusive space for all. We strive to provide the best possible experience for our access guests, and are continually looking for ways to improve.
Access Facilities
Gorilla is a one-floor venue with step-free access to both our restaurant and music venue areas. The only exceptions are our mezzanine levels, which require a small flight of stairs; unfortunately, there is no lift on the premises.
An accessible toilet is available in the main restaurant area. If you're attending a gig and need to use the facilities, a staff or security member will guide you from the venue to the bar.
We are a fully standing venue for all of our events, unless stated otherwise for special events (e.g., comedy nights). We have a small allocation of seats on our mezzanine for access customers; if you would like to reserve these for an event, please follow the steps below.
Booking Process
In order to book access requirements, you first need to purchase a General Admission ticket. After purchasing your ticket, please email us with the event name and your access requirements.
For ambulant customers, we have 12 seats available for access guests on our mezzanine, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. These are located up a small flight of 12 stairs; we also have a private staircase up to the mezzanine if preferred.
Our venue is wheelchair accessible. However, please keep in mind, as we are only a small venue, there is no viewing platform or barriered-off spaces. For step-free access into the venue, entrance is through the restaurant doors located on Whitworth Street. We recommend arriving shortly before doors so we can let you into the venue early to get the best viewing position. We recommend the side stage as you will be at the front, near a bar and security, and not in the middle of a crowd.
Companion Tickets
If you require full-time assistance, we offer complimentary carers tickets for our events. Please email us with your requirements and supporting documentation (e.g., a PIP letter, Access Card, or Blue Badge).
Do not purchase a separate General Admission ticket for your carer as the venue is unable to refund this. Carer tickets are issued on the night and not sent in advance.
Arrival Information
On arrival, make your way to the front of the queue underneath the tunnel and let a member of staff or security know you are on the access list and they will take you through to your seats.
If you require step-free access, please make your way to the restaurant entrance on Whitworth Street and let a member of staff know you are on our access list and they will take you through to the venue.
Parking
Our venue does not have parking; however, there are 2 disabled parking bays located on Great Marlborough Street right by the venue entrance under the tunnel. The closest parking is Q-PARK located at 7 Rosenthal Street, M15 4RA. For other disabled parking locations around Manchester City Centre please click below.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome in our restaurant and venue. If you plan to attend with an assistance dog, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements to ensure a comfortable and welcoming experience for both you and your dog.
Please note: Strobe lighting, smoke machines, and other visual effects may be used during performances.
