This Is The Kit, the nom de plume of Kate Stables, has been in existence since the 00s, when Kate moved to Bristol and started playing and collaborating with local musicians. It was here where her debut album Krulle Bol took shape, recorded and produced by PJ Harvey's long-standing musical collaborator John Parish.

This is the Kits’ 2015 album Bashed Out, was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner and released on his Brassland label. On its release, Bashed Out received critical acclaim and was quickly seen as a breakthrough record.

2016 saw This is the Kit continue to tour relentlessly, following on from a raft of shows and festival dates throughout the summer This Is The Kit played their biggest London show to date with a rapturously received sold out London Union Chapel in November, before commencing work on the follow up to Bashed Out.

2017 also seems to be becoming an exciting time for Kate and all This Is The Kit fans, with the promise of new material and their recent signing with Rough trade, it looks like their return to Manchester will be nothing less than perfection and a celebration of pure talent!

Supporting This Is The Kit will be Barbarossa. BARBAROSSA is the nom de plume of London-based multi-instrumentalist James Mathé.

Mathe’s musical journey started with folk-tinged balladry that saw him become part Fence Collective, and subsequently a band member for the likes of Jose Gonzalez, Johnny Flynn and Junip. With debut album 'Bloodlines', however, Mathé started to infuse his song writing with electronic flourishes, and now with the follow-up 'Imager', he has completed his transformation into a fully fledged electronic soul pioneer.
